
Mr Pratipal Kalsi is an experienced Consultant Spinal Neurosurgeon with a busy NHS and private practice. He has a wide range of clinical and research interests in complex spine surgery including adult degenerative disorders, spine tumours, trauma and infection.
Mr Kalsi undertook his medical training at Imperial College School of Medicine and went on to complete his training in neurosurgery and spinal surgery. He is spine fellowship trained, having undertaken prestigious complex spine fellowships at the Krembil Brain Institute, University of Toronto and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, before being appointed at Imperial College Hospitals NHS Trust.
Mr Kalsi undertook his PhD in spinal cord injury repair and regeneration at the Institute of Neurology, UCL, where he investigated spinal cord injury repair strategies.
He has won a number of prestigious prizes including the Ronald Raven Barber Award for oncological surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons, the Codman Travelling Fellowship and a scholarship to study spine surgery at University of California San Francisco Department of Spinal Surgery.
He has published extensively and presented at national and international meetings, and has authored a number of book chapters on spine surgery.
He is a member of a number of orgnisations including the British Association of Spinal Surgeons, Society of British Neurological Surgeons and the AO Spine North America.
